Thinking and Working Smarter the first week on the job
For all of those who are starting a new job, you will find that it can be hard to get through your first week, but you will want to help yourself out and make the best first impression that you can. You are going to have to learn how to think and work smart. You will find that there are tons of things that you will want to do to make the right first impression, but you will want to be yourself the whole time. You don’t want to feel out of place by pretending to be something that you are not, however, you can learn how to blend your personality and a new job together so that you are able to enjoy the work and the environment that your job puts you in.
You will want to think about the entire situation with a positive way of viewing things. You will want to make sure that you do everything that you can to make yourself see things positively and also to believe in yourself. You will need to do some thing to get yourself to walk in the joint and give off a radiance of confidence. Confidence is something that new bosses look for in those that they hire. They want some one who is positive and can see themselves in the future of the company. You may want to think about the way that you take criticism too. You don’t want to bite someone else’s head off just because you are getting frustrated with the way that others see you. First, if you come into work prepared to learn new ways of doing things you’ll be more open to suggestions and criticism. You need to learn that your co-workers don’t want to break you down, but make you better. You will also want to learn how to think out side of the box. You will need to find it in yourself to accept others and the way that they do things. If you are open to new ideas and experiences you’ll have a great first week.
Also, remember, not everyone does every thing the same way as other companies. You are going to learn new things and you are going to find that your experience is what they were impressed by, but you are just going to have to learn to adjust. You will find that there are things that you will do wrong, but you will want to take it all as a learning experience. Just give it some time before you begin to judge yourself and the job. You will want to make sure that you look over your work before you submit it because when you get nervous you might make a lot of simple mistakes. You will find that your boss will expect some nervous mistakes, but the second week is when you need to show them why they hired you. Just give the job some time for you to adjust because you make any conclusions about the job. You will find that once you are able to get comfortable things will seem a lot better.
If you get yourself excited about the job, you will be able to enjoy your first week. You shouldn’t allow yourself to get overwhelmed, but allow yourself to see all the benefits of the job and how you can improve your skills. You will notice that there are tons of things that you can do to think and work smarter to get yourself through the first week, but you have to keep a positive, open mind to everything.
